How to Give Your Kids a Real Taste of Cinco De Mayo

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo by making (and eating!) yummy Mexican snacks is a great way to introduce your kids to a new culture. Here are some tasty Cinco de Mayo snacks ideas that get our mouths watering just writing about them!

  • Mexican Flag Fruit Skewers from Party Pinching Use the colors of the Mexican flag to create a delicious fruit skewer with strawberry, marshmallow and a green grape.
  • Churro Chips from Small Fry. Deep fry strips of tortillas and then toss with cinnamon sugar.
  • Sombrero Pinata Cookies from Tablespoon.Traditional sugar cookie makes the brim.  Sugar cookie dough is rolled into balls and placed in a mini muffin pan, then the ball is pressed to form a “nest.  Once baked these become the top of the sombrero.  A little decoration and you have a beautiful snack.
